V.I.T.A. - Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program
We will offer free tax help to low-to moderate income($36,000 and below) people who cannot prepare their own tax returns. All accounting majors are required to participate in this service, even students who have not taken Acct 341. You do not need to be afraid since we will receive training to help prepare basic tax returns. This year we only have one VITA site in Rehn 18. This is a great opportunity to get practical experience on how to prepare tax returns. The only way to know how to do a tax return (even your own) is to actually prepare one.

Tax Law Training:

TaxWise Training:

Location:

Tax Work Day:

Officer(s) in Charge: Laura Hayes and Chelsie Romines

**People who have done VITA before can take their test over X-mas break and will only have to come to the TaxWise training.

People new to VITA should come to both training sessions.

EVERYONE, must participate in the VITA program if you are an Accounting major.
If you do not pass the online test, you will not be able to participate in the program. So please take this seriously and do not wait until the last minute to do this.
