Assistant Professor Vincent Intintoli comes to SIU from The Eller College of Management at University of Arizona, where he received bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in finance. Born and raised in Tucson, Intintoli said, “Carbondale was my first move out of Arizona.”
As he settles into Southern Illinois life, Intintoli is getting his first taste of full-time teaching. He taught part-time at Eller for several years while he was working on his doctorate, which he received in August. “I enjoy teaching and I am particularly interested in the areas of corporate finance, financial management and financial institutions,” he said. At SIU, Intintoli teaches two sections of Finance 330.
The scholar chose SIU because “the Department of Finance provides an excellent environment for me to focus on quality research and teaching,” Intintoli said.
Intintoli researches corporate finance issues such as executive turnover, corporate governance, executive compensation, and mergers and acquisitions.
When Intintoli isn’t hitting the books, he’s rooting for the Phoenix Suns, the Arizona Diamondbacks and University of Arizona teams. However, he is impressed by SIU teams and is “excited about becoming a Saluki fan,” he said.
