Assistant Professor of Accounting Ramon P. Rodriguez, Jr. chose SIU because he was “very impressed by the faculty, students and facilities,” he said.
Rodriguez teaches tax, financial, international and managerial accounting. “I enjoy taking a subject like taxation that is perceived to be extremely complex and attempting to make it accessible to accounting majors and non-majors alike,” he said.
Rodriguez researches international accounting, capital markets and taxation. He is a dual-degree graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio, earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1999 an MBA in 2001. He holds a doctorate in international business from The University of Texas at El Paso. He is a certified public accountant.
Rodriguez was born in Denver, Colo. and raised in San Antonio, Texas and Germany. His favorite hobby is spending time with his family which includes a wife and three boys who enjoy “life in southern Illinois because of the many outdoor activities available in the area,” he said.
